Deacon and Olivia 9 Month Pictures

DEACON
9 Months

 Time for a rest (:

I love this one!

OLIVIA
(9/10 months)

This little girl is doing well. She loves to eat and gets really excited when her food is being prepared...so much that she'll scream in excitement. She sleeps through the night most of the time (or so I hear), but not always so good in the day. No teeth for her yet, but i'm sure it'll happen soon. She will pull herself up and stand if there is something she can find to pull herself up with. She has been crawling since she was probably 6 months and standing/walking along the couch since about 7 1/2 months. She is pretty smiley, but can get shy around new people. She has learned to get "Grandma Puppy" which is a dog on a shelf below the tv. When my mom said "where's grandma's puppy?" she will crawl over to it and pull it down. She's a smart girl! She loves her binkie and tries to steal Deacon's when she can. She also likes to steal his toys, but little does she know that he will be able to defend himself pretty soon. She also really enjoys books and being read to. She is sure a sweetie pie, but very busy!

9 Months!

It is crazy to think that Deacon has now been out of my tummy longer than he was in it!

9 Month Stats:
28 inches long - 37th %
18 inch head circumference - 60th %
19 lbs 6 oz - 28th %

His percentages have decreased some, but the doctor said he expects a dip around now since babies start to burn more calories when they crawl and move around more.
  • Deacon can clap all by himself now! It is so cute and he loves to do it.
  • He can't crawl yet, but he can move all around in a circle on his tummy. He is definitely becoming more mobile.
  • He just started to be able to flip from his tummy to his back, which is wonderful because before when he was tired of being on his tummy he would start to cry until we flipped him over. Now he can do it all by himself, yippee!
  • He gets "angry" at random times and will "attack" you or your face.
  • He is very good to sit and play with his toys when I need to do something.
  • He has started to eat cheerios and is learning how to pick them up and put them in his mouth by himself.
  • Sometimes he talks in a "whisper" voice - he'll just babble really quietly. It's pretty cute, but I think pretty much everything he does is cute.
  • When I say "bouncing boy" while he is sitting, he will bounce up and down.
  • He really likes when I sing to him - which is bad because I have a horrible voice! I guess it's okay if he is the only one who hears it. He likes The Itsy Bitsy Spider and Row Row Row Your Boat the best.
  • He looks at us with sad, puppy eyes when we are eating and he is not.
  • And...He just got his first tooth! It is one of his middle bottom teeth. Way to go Deac!

His Dad is getting him started early...

February and Sick

Our poor Deacon caught a virus last Friday and has been pretty sick. He had a high fever and just slept for about 4 days. When he got up to 103.3 degrees, we decided to get him checked out. We were hoping he had an ear infection, but as far as the doctor could tell, it was a virus. I hate viruses, especially since there is no medicine to take for them... you just have to wait until they run their course. The doctor also told us to expect a cough and runny nose soon, but that still hasn't happened yet, so maybe he'll get lucky. Being new parents is so worrisome, especially when we experience things for the first time with Deacon. We are still waiting for his first tooth to break through and only want it to happen so that we will know what to expect.

Anyways, here are a few pictures from yesterday while he was hanging out with Grandma and Grandpa. I am so happy to finally see a smile and him awake and playing!

We sure love this sweet boy!
And Happy Valentine's Day!

Grandpa slicked his hair back in this cool "do" (:

Playing with Grandma's new toy. She's the best!
