Deacon - 15 Months

Deacon 15 Month Stats

Head - 19 inches - 80th percent
Weight - 22 lbs 5 oz - 20th percent
Length - 32 1/4 inches - 83rd percent

The Doctor said he is doing well. He had to get 2 shots at this visit which made him have a fever the next afternoon, but he is doing well now. When I went to get him out of his crib this morning he threw his binkie on the floor. He then said "Ma, uh-oh, uh-oh, ma." It was so cute. I guess I am "ma." When I try to get him to say mama, he just says ma; i'll take it for now. The other day I yelled to Matt while I was feeding Deacon. Deacon then tried to repeat me and yelled "Maaa," too.

I went to the Ogden Temple open house on Wednesday with the Young Women & Young Men. We got rained on a little bit when we came out, but it wasn't too bad. It is a beautiful temple.

July

July was a great month! We went swimming with Emily and her kids a few times and made a quick trip to St. George for the Air Show (Matt) and to visit my grandparents. Both the 4th and 24th of July were a lot of fun, spent with family and fun activities!

Deacon
Deacon has such a fun personality. He has been walking backwards a lot lately. He thinks it's funny and some sort of game. He also likes to play hide-and-seek with Matt and me. He can say "Hi" and just started to say "uh-oh." He does like to jabber jabber jabber in his own little language, which I quite like to hear. He is doing well with food, he much prefers to eat what Matt and I are eating than what is in his bowl, even if it is the same thing. He and Livy have started to actually "play" together somewhat. He still picks up everything and puts it in his mouth! Sticks, leaves, apples, books...pretty much he'll chew on anything he can find on the ground and he has to pick up every little tiny thing. I guess it's good he's a curious boy, but i'm not a fan of him eating sticks and leaves. I guess he'll learn. He likes to squeeze himself into tight places - behind the couch, entertainment center, and chairs. He tries to jump - if we tell him to jump, he will bend his knees and shoot up, but his feet never leave the ground; it's pretty cute. He is also getting better at sharing. Garrett came to visit us a week or so ago and we would give Deacon a cheerio to eat and then ask him to give one to Garrett, and he did! Well at least he would try. He got one in Garrett's mouth about three times and then "attempted" to give one to him before deciding he wanted to eat it himself. He has been sleeping great at night, but not quite as well in the day. He used to take 2 naps at my mom's house, but lately it's only been taking 1. He can get pretty cranky at night if he doesn't get a second nap when we get home. He is our amazing boy who loves exploring the world around him.

Deacon is my "stinker pant"s and Livy is my "sassy pants." Deacon is a bit of a tease, or stinker, and Livy has got a bit of sass, or swagger (as Grandma says).

Happy 4th of July!

He loved these rackets!
