April 2019

On April 5, Deacon and Livy earned their Yellow Belt in Karate. I am very proud of them for finishing it until the end, even when they didn't want to. Way to go!

Happy 6th Birthday to Livy!

I don't have a picture, but Deacon learned to ride his bike this month. I kept trying to encourage him to try riding it (he had been riding a balance bike until this point), but he didn't want to. One day he decided to try it out and rode it very well that day. He did a great job and I was surprised how quickly he caught on to it. Those balance bikes work pretty well at getting kids ready to ride a big bike without training wheels.

Emerson put the cow chair up on the couch to watch tv and eat his snack:

Crazy hair!

Deacon set this up for his animals:

Emer was driving this car so funny - he was leaning his head far forward.

 Junior Achievement Bowling Event:
This is an event my work attends every year. Deacon was so funny - the theme was a birthday party this year since it was JA's 100th birthday. Deacon kept going up to the staff table and made friends with Laura (one of the JA staff) and kept coming back with party bags. I think by the end, he ended up with 4 bags. Livy and Deacon also had fun walking through the neon mini golf course that was at this Fat Cats location (they got a little bored with bowling, although Livy stayed focused much longer than Deacon). The kids had fun when they got home going through the party bags and splitting everything up between the three of them.

Easter 2019

We had a busy Easter Weekend. I had no idea, but there is an Easter Egg Hunt held at our church every year. Once I found out about it, I thought we would check it out. It was nice because it had several different areas broken out by age so that the younger kids had a chance of getting some eggs. I was really grateful that my mom came because she was able to go with Deacon and Livy and I stayed with Emer. Turns out we should have done it the other way around because Emer cried for several minutes when we separated because he wanted to be with Grandma. Once the hunt began, he was happy getting eggs. The kids got quite a few eggs filled with candy, stickers, and other little things. The Easter Bunny was even there, but of course, Livy was a little scared to go up and see him. It was a fun egg hunt and I hope we can go again next year.

That afternoon, we went to Cabala's for the Easter Egg Hunt they were having. The kids went around the store finding 5 different colored eggs that they got to turn in at the front of the store for prizes. I thought we would be able to see the Easter Bunny again while we were here, but he was on a break during the egg hunt. The kids were also able to do a bunny craft.

Getting these 3 to still still and smile at the same time for a picture is impossible!
