St. George Weekend

We got away this weekend for a quick trip to visit Matt's parents and my Grandparents in St. George. My Mom came with us too, which is always fun. It was really windy on Friday, and on and off on Saturday, but I think we were able to do quite a few things and enjoy the warm sunshine! Deacon got to go on many rides in Grandpa's golf cart (mostly to the dog park), went on the carousel, played in the water at Town Square, rode the tricycle, fed the ducks, played at the park, drew with chalk, and played with grandma and grandpa lots. Since it was so windy on Friday evening and we couldn't go outside, Deacon and Grandpa sat in the garage in the golf cart for probably 45 minutes. Deacon loves that thing! He did pretty well sleeping at night, but refused to take a nap on the drive down or on Saturday. Thankfully he finally did fall asleep on our drive home on Sunday.

The whole trip, Deacon was very concerned to know if we were on the freeway. He seemed to be able to tell when we were driving faster and would ask if we were on the freeway. Then when he could tell we were slowing down, he would ask again if we were on the freeway and we would tell him that we were now on the city roads. It was so funny and he did it every time he got in the car. I have no idea how it even started or why he wanted to know. On our drive home on Sunday he asked if we were on the freeway again, except he didn't want to be on the freeway, so Grandma would tell him that we were on the interstate. He seemed to be content with that. I'm not sure why he didn't want to be on the freeway anymore.
He also referred to Grandpa Fenwick's house as his "new house."

Crazy Hair & Crazy Drivers!

Matt has a bump on the palm of his hand; it's a condition that runs in his family. Deacon either just discovered this bump last night, or was just interested in it and started playing "doctor" with Matt. I had no idea he was looking at the bump, but he kept asking me for a Band-aid. I left the room for a minute and when I came back in, Deacon said "Mom, Dad has a big bum!" I thought this was such a funny thing for Deacon to say. As we both laughed, Matt let me know that Deacon said he had a big bump - meaning the bump on his hand. It was too funny!

Deacon also told both Matt and I several times last night that we needed to go put on our clothes (even though we were both fully dressed) and then have an Easter Egg hunt. I guess he's still in the Easter mood. He also still hasn't moved on from Christmas. A lot of the time when we ask him what he dreamed about, he happily tells us "Santa."

My mom and Mandy took Deacon and Livy to Dick's a few weeks ago. They had fun eating cookies and riding in the car cart.

Deac had some pretty crazy hair after his bath one night:
He also insisted that he wear his socks on his hands:

It's still hard to believe that my little boy is almost 3 years old! I can't believe how little he was when he was born compared to now. They really do grow up right before you eyes and so quickly! Even though he's a pill and a half, I sure think he's a cutie!
