18 7/8 inch head - 89th% (he may have a big head, but he was moving a lot when the nurse was measuring him and she said that she didn't think she measured it very accurately)

Wow, a year has already gone by! Deacon just had his third and fourth teeth pop in about a week ago. He now has two on bottom and two on top. Has been sleeping much better since I let him cry for a night when Matt went to Lake Powell -- it really does work! He smiles when he sees me brush my teeth and when I give Matt a kiss goodbye in the morning. Most of his clothes are still 9 month, but it's about time we start the 12 month stuff.. I might just jump to 18 months though (: He really enjoys stroller rides and exploring (touching) everything he can. He thinks the funniest things are funny - he'll just start to laugh when we don't expect him to. I have been told that he likes to pull Livy's hair - sorry! He likes to stand up in his crib and jump up and down. If he doesn't want a toy or something I give to him, he'll just throw it as far as he can, usually behind or to the side of him. It's pretty cute to watch because if I keep giving it back to him, he'll just keep throwing it with all his might. He's getting a bit of a mullet on the back of his head - his hair is a little curly there, but I don't want to cut it yet. He likes to "toss" the ball back and forth. He usually throws it to the right of him instead of forward, but it works. He closes his eyes when he knows I am about to put a shirt on him. He is still army crawling, but has started to get up on his knees more. We have definitely had to start to baby proof everything, or pretty much just put everything he can't have out of his reach. He will stretch as far as he possibly can to try to grab something - like the remote on the couch. He does this cute fake "ha" laugh sometimes out of no where and will repeat it back to you if you say it to him. I still love that he gets to be with my mom in the day while we are at work. I think he just loves it there and being with her. I am so lucky to have my parents so close to help with him! We sure love this little boy and his sweet smile!

Happy 1st Birthday Deacon!

 We gave him a cupcake to dig into, but he wasn't very interested in it.

Started walking between 12-13 months.
Just got her first tooth around May 12th and her second one not long after.
