Deacon has really enjoyed this holiday season. He loves to see the Christmas lights, trees, and decorations. He quite likes nutcrackers, bells, and candy canes, too. He even made up his own songs about them. He pretty much just sings the same word over and over, ex: candy canes, candy canes, candy candy canes.... He also likes to sing Jingle Bells. We went on the North Pole Express in Heber Valley on December 8 and Deacon enjoyed the train ride and seeing Santa. Santa gave him and Livy a bell and a candy cane. We also went to see Santa at Farmington Station on December 19. There was a big basket of candy canes next to Santa and when he asked Deacon what he would like for Christmas, Deacon said "a candy cane." Santa gave him a candy cane and he was a very happy little boy. Deacon did not like waiting in line to see Santa, but he did enjoy watching the fountain. When we got home that night, Deacon wanted to play a game where he was Santa and I was Mrs. Clause (even though he wanted to sit on my lap and tell me what he wanted for Christmas).
Deacon is already very into Star Wars, even though he hasn't seen the movies or really knows what it's about. He likes Darth Vader and the Storm Troopers. Grandma Mecham bought him Star Wars fruit snacks and he likes to find all of the characters on the box. Yoda and R2-D2 are also fun for him. He loves robots and likes to pretend that he is a robot quite often. We had a big snow storm hit last week and Deacon has enjoyed going out in the snow with his shovel. Sadly, I don't like being in the snow, but i'll try to let him explore it somewhat.
