We have been telling Deacon that his birthday is coming up for a few weeks now. When I went into his room on his birthday to get him up I said "Happy Birthday Deacon!" He replied "Thanks, Mom. Where are my presents?" Funny boy; I guess he understands that you get presents on your birthday.
We took Deacon to Boondocks for his birthday. He hadn't had a lot of sleep for the past few days and was a bit grumpy until we got there. He was very upset that we had to eat dinner before we went. When we got there, he enjoyed running back and forth to a bunch of different arcade games. He didn't even care to "really" play them, he just liked pretending, although he probably thought he was playing them. So he played a few games, bowled two games, went on a bumper boat ride with Dad, and played mini bowling for about 2 minutes. He then ran around all the arcade games again. He had a fun time and even asked me if we could go to Boondocks the next day.

On Friday night we had a little birthday party for Deacon with family at our house. My parents, Matt's parents, Mandy, and Livy were all there to celebrate with us. He got some fun toys and then we had some cake and ice cream. A few things he got were some Paw Patrol items (t-shirts, cars, a book, and a bucket), a clock with shapes and numbers, a scooter, a magnetic fireman/policeman, some ABC blocks, and a Mickey Mouse book with a magnifying glass.
Deacon had his 3 year check-up yesterday with the doctor. The doctor said he's doing great.
Stats:
Weight: 32 lbs 4 oz (57th %)
Length: 39.5 inches (91st %)
He passed the hearing test that they gave him in both ears and was happy to get a sucker at the end. He does have big tonsils, so that's something we're slightly concerned about right now, but will watch it as he gets older.

It's cute to hear Deacon talk when he first wakes up in the morning or from his naps before we go get him. Sometimes he'll say "momma," and other times "dadda," but my favorite is when he says "anybody?"
We ate corn for dinner the last night and Matt was using a toothpick afterwards. Deacon was so confused why Matt was using a toothpick. He kept saying "Dadda, that's for hamburgers." I don't remember us ever using a toothpick with our hamburgers, but according to Deacon, that's what toothpicks are for.
