Emerson - 10 Months

It is definitely getting harder to take Emerson's monthly picture with him rolling all around. He has just barely started to clap, he will wave, and i'm pretty sure he was covering his eyes and playing peek-a-boo with me the other day. I have started to give him more finger & table foods. He has now had banana, watermelon, cheese, yogurt, black beans, avocado, Cheerios/puffs, and I tried cottage cheese, but we won't be doing that again for a while. Cottage cheese is messy and he kept spitting while he ate it and it would go everywhere! The watermelon was a mess, too, but he really seemed to like it. He is so funny the way he eats finger foods. He will grab one of whatever he is eating and hold one in each hand, and then try to use his fingers to eat the rest of the food that's available while he holds one in each hand the whole time (hopefully that made sense). Then when he is out of food, he'll look to me to give him more and I have to remind him that he still has two left, one in each hand. This is what made the watermelon very messy because he would squeeze the two pieces he was holding in his hands and the juice would drip all over. Luckily I got it all cleaned up and survived (:  He is still so happy and fun. He has started to make sounds in a sort of low, growl voice a lot lately. It's pretty cute, but I have no idea why he does it. I guess he's channeling his inner Batman. His naps have gown downhill this month. Most days he only takes a 1/2 hour nap in the morning and a 1/2 hour nap in the afternoon. If we are lucky, sometimes he does take a longer nap in the afternoon, but it's not something I can count on. I did get very lucky where he slept so much in the day for his first 6-7 months. He still sleeps through the night, so that's probably most important anyways. He's been doing this for a while, but he can now go from sitting to rolling on the floor. He seems like he's interested in crawling, but it hasn't happened yet, which is just fine with me. He has two teeth on the bottom, and I wish the rest would come all at once because he has a hard time for about a month before the tooth actually pops through.
