Emerson's 5th Birthday

Emerson's 5th birthday was quite the celebration! Matt went to Alaska August 21-29, so we did a little party for Emer on the night of Friday, August 20 before Matt left. I took Emerson to Five Below and let him pick any 3 things he wanted, and then we went to Dairy Queen and got an ice cream pizza. We gave him most of his presents from us this night, but Matt wanted him to still have a few presents to open on his actual birthday, so on Sunday, August 22 I gave him 3 more presents.

Emerson was so proud that he put his Lego Dragon set together all by himself:

For Emerson's 5th birthday, he got to have a friend party. We went to Coconut Cove on Saturday, August 28 from 2:30-4:30pm (although we ended up staying until 5:30pm). Deacon, Livy, Garrett, Kyle, Isabelle, Piper, Oliver, Luci, and Gracie all came. Emer invited 3 other boys from daycare, but they couldn't come, so we invited Isabelle. Emerson had a great time, except after he opened his presents, he wasn't too interested in playing at Coconut Cove anymore and started asking me if we could go home around 4pm - funny kid. We ended up staying with Emily's kids until 5:30pm because Owen had a baseball game that ran long, but I had no problem with the kids staying and playing longer. Emer was just a party pooper for the last bit and just sat on my lap. He was very excited about his presents and had fun playing with them for the rest of the night.

We were going to have one more party with Grandparents on Friday, September 3, but Deacon caught a cold, so we thought it would be best to postpone it a few days. We decided to go out to dinner for Emer's birthday that night instead and he picked to go to Black Bear Diner. We had never been there before and everyone seemed to like it.

Lastly, we finally had Emerson's birthday party with Grandparents on Tuesday, September 7. He picked a pumpkin spice cake to have at this party. This kid had a pretty drawn out birthday, but hopefully that made it fun for him. He was so excited about this birthday this year and kept asking me how many days it was until his birthday starting in June.

He got some fun Lego sets, monster trucks, Treasure X, puppy toy, lunchbox, cars, Bakugon, Treasure game, Twister, Spider-man shirt/shorts set, monster play book, tiles game, Hot Wheels launcher, and lot of other fun things.

He also got to celebrate his birthday at Preschool on Monday, August 30.

Happy Birthday Emerson!
