February

February went by surprisingly quick.  The days go by so fast right now that I feel like I hardly have time to do much or see much of my kids.  Hopefully when the weather changes and it's nice outside, it won't feel like that anymore.  We did get a few warmer days in February, but now it's back to snow.

Deacon
Deacon is doing great.  He is so funny in that he notices things and is nice to tell you when he likes stuff. For example, I don't wear lip color very often, but I put some on for church yesterday.  When Deacon saw me he said "Mom, I love your lips!" Cute boy.
Matt took him to see the Lego Batman movie on Saturday, February 18.  Deacon seemed to like it and liked to tell me all of the other characters that were in the movie (Superman, Flash, Green Lantern, etc.).  He loved Valentine's Day and got to have a little party at his daycare.  He came home with quite the haul!  He seems to enjoy cooking right now.  He loves to play with pretend food and even helped me make dinner a few times.  I love the food combinations he comes up with that he pretends to make for us.  He also still likes his tools and "spooky" things.  We got him some more books at the library this weekend and about half of them are Halloween books.  It's hard not to buy him a million things since he gets so excited about stuff.  I want to buy him every Ninja Turtle, Batman, cooking, and Halloween thing I see, but of course I have to control myself.

Here are a few pictures of him at the Batman movie - He wasn't very photogenic that day (;

Being a RockStar!

Grandpa Mecham took Deacon and Livy on a walk on Sunday in February on Bountiful Blvd:

*3/7/17 Update - I wanted to add a few things. 1. Deacon loves eggs and toast. I guess it's a Fenwick thing... both Matt and Grandpa Fenwick like it, too. Deacon will sneak downstairs sometimes when Grandpa Fenwick is at our house and eat his eggs and toast. 2. I was recording Emerson on my phone a few days ago and Deacon was playing with his blocks in the background. He said "Mom, do you like my tower?" And of course I said "yes." The he said "say good job, Deacon." So I laughed and said "good job, Deacon."

Emerson
Emerson is still our happy, sweet, smiley baby boy.  He's getting close to rolling over, but is not there yet.  He tends to do a bit of a scream sometimes when he laughs, which is actually pretty cute.  He also makes a grunting sound a lot and gurgles.  He's just full of sounds I guess.  He still enjoys his tubs and i'm afraid he's going to roll over in the tub one of these days (I am so forgetful and can't remember what we did when Deacon started to roll). He is really good with his hands and can grab his toys well.  As long as he's not too tired or hungry, he does really great just laying down and playing with his toys.  Even though he can't roll yet, he can somehow go around in a circle on the floor on his back.  He can sit up by himself for the most part, but still needs a little support for when he starts tipping to one side.  Emerson will do it, but is still not very fond of tummy-time.  He is at a fun age to play with and I wouldn't mind if he stayed this age for a while longer.  Still doesn't like his car seat or the car much, but he does fall asleep in the car quite often.  He is a pretty good sleeper most nights and will sleep through the night, except for the last few nights.  Some days he naps great and other days not so great, but he doesn't usually get too upset or grumpy when he doesn't sleep as much.

Playing with Grandma's "new" toy.  She said he yelled and talked to the monkey on this toy for 45 minutes one day:

On February 28, Emerson got to try his first bites of real food - pureed carrots.  Matt had him sitting up on the table while Deacon ate his dinner and we decided to let him try some read food, too. He seemed to like them, but learning to use a spoon is hard work.

Here he is the next day in the highchair. He looks so cute and little! He would yell at me when I took a long time to give him more - I guess that's a good sign.

 Brotherly Love. Deacon wanted to hold Emerson. I told him to smile and this is what I got:
