September

Emerson:
Likes to roll around on our bed
I have been able to get him to somewhat say "uh oh" and "choo choo"
He has been standing by himself a lot this month with no support. Most the time he doesn't even realize he is doing it. He did take 1 step towards me on Sept 21.
He likes to crawl all over everyone - back and forth, over your head, back over your belly, etc
He is a screamer! Sometimes he wants attention, sometimes he wants food, and other times I have no idea what's going on, but he can and likes to scream.
This month he has been throwing his food on the floor a lot. He likes to just toss it over, even if i'm sitting right by him. I just pick it up and give it back to him.
He likes to spit, which is not my favorite thing. He starts to spit if he done eating, and other times he just randomly starts to spit.
He likes to touch my face when i'm putting him to sleep.
He also will crawl around and then just stop and sit for a while. Then crawl to a new spot, and stop and sit.

Deacon:
Started preschool at Miss Melanie Beckstead's on Monday, August 28. He seems to really like it and is excited to take something for Show and Tell every Monday. He is also excited to show us all the papers he brings home. He attends it twice a week and Livy is in his class.

He has been doing a state funded pre-k course called UpStart. Sometimes he likes it and other days he doesn't, but so far he has been able to complete the required 15 minutes a day for 5 days a week. He is a very smart boy.

Our neighbors invited us and a few other families over for dinner one Sunday this month. Deacon asked Matt if there would be any boys there (the only neighbor going with kids his age has 3 girls). Matt told him that he wasn't sure, and Deacon said "if there are only girls there, i'm not going." He did end up going and had a blast playing with the little girls.

When we go to Costco and Smith's, Deacon likes to get any samples they may have. I made him some playdough one night and he quietly played with it for quite a while. He had a bunch of little pieces cut up on a tray and when I asked him what they were. he told me he was making samples. I guess I have a future sample giver in the making.

We took Deacon to his first Bee's baseball game on Labor Day. During his prayers that night he said "thank you we could go to the Bee's wax game." I love that he thinks it's call Bee's wax.

Another funny thing Deacon did this month is on our way home one day he told me he downloaded the Spider-Man song. I asked him where and how he downloaded the song (thinking maybe a kid did it at daycare on their tablet). He told me he downloaded it on his invisible, camouflage Ipad. I asked him if he would play the song for me, but he said he couldn't because it was on his invisible Ipad that is camouflaged, so I wouldn't be able to see it or hear it.

Deacon also performed in his first Primary Program this month. Matt took him to a practice the Saturday before the program and even though we had tried a few times, he did not know his part. I guess several of the other kids had memorized his part and they told the kids if they learned their part, they could get a treat. This must have motivated him, because after going over it with him for a few minutes, it all a sudden clicked and he knew it. His line was "Agency is an important part of the Plan of Salvation." He memorized it and when it was his turn to repeat it during the program, he told the lady that was there to help him that he could do it, and he did great. I am so proud of him!

9/14/17: More Zoo fun, and with Grandma this time! A lot of the animals were right by the glass this time, which was cool to see. Grandma bought Livy and Deacon a souvenirs this trip. Livy got a wolf, and after what seemed like forever and many tears later, Deacon finally decided on a black widow spider.
