This Thanksgiving we went to St. George to be with Matt's parents. Mun, Anna, and Clara came, too, and we visited my Grandparents while we were there. We left on Wednesday early evening and got down there pretty late. We followed Mun and Anna down. On Thursday, the kids got to go on golf cart rides and visit the dog park. We had a nice Thanksgiving meal (even though we had to go to Wal-Mart a few times), and it was nice to be together. The leftovers were great for the next few days, too! On Friday, I went and did a little Black Friday shopping while the kids played around. That evening we went to the all-abilities Dinosaur park and rode the train. My grandparents came and rode on the train with us. Deacon didn't enjoy waiting in the line for the train, but a boy in front of us had a lizard type of pet he brought with him and he let Deacon hold it. Deacon thought it was so cool and now wants a pet lizard, iguana, and snake. I told him he can get whatever kind of pet he wants when he is older and doesn't live with me anymore. I'm not allowing any of those in my house! That night we went to see the lights at the St. George Temple. Both Deacon and Emerson enjoyed that. I had no idea that they put up Christmas lights at this temple. On Saturday, Grandma took us on a hike to a slot canyon. I guess she usually goes a different way, but she decided to follow the signs that were newly posted and it took us a while to get to it. Deacon was a little grumpy and didn't want to walk, but he finally came around. She had us hike back out the way she normally goes, and it was much much faster! It was a nice hike and nice to get outside. On Sunday, we all went to feed the ducks. The Dinosaur park was within walking distance from where we fed the ducks, so we went there again. It was much less crowded and Deacon got to do a few things that he didn't get to do when we went before. We packed up and went home after lunch, just like everyone else who traveled to St. George decided to do! Traffic getting home was pretty bad, but we finally made it around 8:30-9:00 pm. Overall we had a great trip and are glad we were able to do it and spend more time with Grandma and Grandpa!
Deacon started to say funny things when we would take his picture. The only ones I can remember is on our hike he said "Indian," and with the ducks he said something like forest or trees. They were pretty funny. He would just say 3-5 things while I was taking his picture.
Sleeping at night wasn't that great with all four of us in one room, but Emer did take a 1.5-2 hour nap each day, so that was nice! I wasn't sure he would nap much during the trip.
