I had to reschedule Emerson's 18-month check-up appointment, so his stats are about 2-weeks late (3/6/18). His doctor said he's doing great. Even though he talks a bunch with us, the only thing the doctor got him to say was "I don't know" when he asked him where Deacon was. The doctor was pretty impressed that he could say that. He cried at first with the nurse, but then calmed down after he played with some toys and was just shy the rest of the time. He did have to get 1 shot, but did a great job.
His 18-month pictures are below (2/24/18). We were the last appointment of the day at 4:45pm, so I called ahead of time and asked the photo studio if they were running behind. The gal said that they were running behind, but that we needed to be there by 4:50pm at the latest. We ended up waiting over 1.5 hours and I wasn't really that happy with the pictures we got. There are a few good ones, but I thought the others were going to turn out better. I accidentally left Emerson's outfit on the railing in our house, so we ended up buying him a new outfit. Luckily the photo studio is located in JC Penney's. Deacon wanted to be in a few pictures, so even though he wasn't dressed for the part, we let them take a few together.

While we waited for our turn to take pictures, we walked around the mall a little. The kids were excited to ride on the ride below, but unfortunately it was out of order.
Emerson is such a smart boy. He can count pretty well from 1-10. In the tub the other night we were counting for something, and he started saying 12, 13... I guess we count a lot. He is constantly picking up new phrases like hold it, open it, and there he is. He went to nursery for the first time on February 25. I had planned to stay with him the whole time, but when I took him in, he went straight for a toy and seemed perfectly fine. He didn't even notice that I sneaked out and the teachers said he did great. They said he didn't always know what to do, so they would just pick him up and take him where he needed to go, but that he was fine.
Emerson enjoying a popcicle, playing with his shovel in the snow, and playing with potato heads:
