June
Deacon and Livy graduated from the Upstart program in the middle of June. The graduation was not very good, but Deacon is very happy to be done. They asked each kid what they wanted to be when they grow up and announced it to everyone when it was their turn to go up front. Deacon said he wants to be a "worker," which he then changed to like five more things on our way home. Livy said she wanted to be a firefighter - that's what the kid before he said (; They said we can still use the program until September, so I have been having Deacon do it once a week still, which he doesn't like, but it's better than 5-6 times a week.
We had an exciting day on Saturday, June 16. First, the kids went to swimming lessons. Deacon did a great job this year and had a much better teacher and experience than he did last year. Emerson and I did a mom and tot class, which he cried pretty much the whole time our first lesson. Luckily he warmed up and did much better the following 4 lessons. There was a car show going on at the park next to the rec center this day, so we went to check it out. Jeremy was there and he entered his Camaro into the show. Deacon had fun seeing Jeremy, getting free stuff, and seeing all the cars. There was even a car painted like Lightening McQueen from Cars. As we were leaving, we ran into Tinker Bell, Captain Jack Sparrow, and Darth Vader. I have no idea why these people where there dressed up, but Deacon thought it was pretty cool to see Darth Vader and get his picture taken with him. While Emerson took a nap that afternoon, I took Deacon to Michael's where they were doing free slime. He had fun adding beads and different things to his slime. We then went to Lagoon that night - it was a busy, but fun day!
