We got the kids a Discovery Gateway pass this year for Christmas, but when we went on Jan 1 and I tried to purchase the membership, we were told that there was already a membership in my name. Turns out the Hart's had given us a membership to Discovery Gateway for Christmas, too, but we hadn't exchanged gifts with them yet. It was a very nice surprise and worked out great. I was worried that New Years Day would be busy at the museum, but it wasn't at all. It was just great and there were even some new things for the kids to play with that were not there the last time we went. This was Emerson's first time going and all the kids had a fun time. We will be going a lot more throughout this year!
Emerson loved the dog house:
Deacon and Livy started Karate Lessons. It was once a week from Friday, Jan 18 to Friday, April 5. They did not like it! Deacon actually cried on our way home, but I asked them to try it at least 2 more times before they decided to quit. The next lesson, one of Deacon's friends from his Kindergarten class joined the group, so that helped a lot. They still didn't really seem to like it, but with some bribery of ice cream and some hard work, they did complete the course!
Second trip to Discovery Gateway
Deacon spent most of his time doing these blue blocks this time. He built a chair with all kinds of things attached to it. He was very proud of his creation.
Matt also took Deacon to a Monster Truck show with his friend Dan and his two daughters, Olivia and Grace. Deacon had a fun time.
On January 30, I went to the Kelly Clarkson concert with Jill and Jess.
Kelly has a lot of personality and it was very entertaining.
