December

Sickness hit us hard in December! First, we all had colds, then all four of us got strep, and then a stomach bug hit everyone. It was awful! Matt wasn't feeling very good for a few days and then a few days later Emer had a low fever and started to get little red dots on his face. I took him to the doctor that morning and he tested positive for strep. By that time, I wasn't feel the best either, but I had to go into work for the afternoon. After work, I was feeling awful and took me and the kids to Insta-Care so that Deacon and I could get tested. Deacon didn't seem to have any symptoms, but I was pretty sure Matt and I had strep, and since Emer had tested positive, I figured we should get Deacon tested, too. Deacon and I both tested positive and while we waited for our prescriptions to get filled, I called Matt and told him he needed to come and get tested, too. He finally got enough energy to come and his test was NEGATIVE! I could not believe it! He had been sick longer than any of us and was feeling just awful! This was on Thursday, and on Saturday afternoon, Matt got a call saying that his strep test had just turned positive. It was crazy! The lady on the phone said that the test rarely turns positive a few days after it is taken, but I was glad his finally turned positive so he could get some meds. He had started to feel a little better by this point, but I didn't want us all to catch it again. So two weeks later, we all completed our medicine and then got the stomach flu ): rough month!

Luckily everyone was feeling better by Christmas time. Last year, Deacon had strep on Christmas and missed out on some things from being sick and throwing up. We did get to enjoy all of the Christmas parties and family this year.

Emerson was sick, so only Deacon and Livy got to go see Santa at Cablea's. They were handing out stuffed animals and Deacon got one to take home to Emer since he couldn't go.

My Grandma Nelson got Emerson this huge Mickey Mouse! He loved wrestling with it.

Deacon got sick the day we were supposed to go on the Heber Valley Christmas Train, so we transferred our tickets and went on the After Christmas Heber Train. Grandma Nelson was able to come with us and we had a great time!

Emerson kept trying to lick the window for some reason

Deacon was upset for some reason and didn't want to be in the group picture
