August 2019

We had a pretty fun August. Deacon started playing soccer, Emerson turned 3, we went camping at Great Basin National Park, and we tried to be outside and enjoy ourselves before school started.

Playing at the park after going to the farmer's market:

We got some free tickets to Tracy Aviary and decided to use them on Friday, August 2. It was a pretty hot day, but not too bad. It was fun to see the birds and explore. We saw the bird show and the kids tried to chase a peacock around.

On August 3, I took the kids to Discovery Gateway and then let them play at the splash pad at the Gateway. I thought they would have liked it more than they did. I kept having to tell them to go play.

On August 4, we took Emerson on his first hike. We hiked up Mueller Park Canyon with Grandpa and Livy and he did an awesome job! I thought for sure he and I would be in the back going slower than everyone else, but he wanted to keep up with the big kids and walked pretty much all of the way by himself.

On August 10, we went swimming at Aunt Laurie's pool. It was a really nice day and we had a fund time with Laurie, Grandma Mecham, and Grandma Nelson.

Everyone wants to help Dad:

Grandpa Mecham took Deacon fishing on Dec 19. Deacon had to get up pretty early (I think around 5am), but he had a fun time.

Deacon's first day of 1st grade:

Playing at Creekside Park. Deacon loved playing in the water - Emerson not so much.
