Deacon turned 4 on May 19, 2017. Poor kid was so excited and was looking forward to his birthday for so long, that when he woke up on May 18, he jumped up and said "Mom, it's my birthday!!" He was pretty crushed to hear that his birthday was still one day away.
When he woke up on his actual birthday, things went much better for him. I wanted to wait until the evening to have him open his presents so that we could do other things, but I felt bad because he kept asking me all day to open them. I gave in, and gave him one present in the morning, which was a Batman mask that he really likes. We then went to IHOP for breakfast and spent the afternoon at Boondocks. He may have actually enjoyed Boondocks more last year, but he did have fun. He got to go on a 4D movie experience and watch "The Haunted Mine" with Matt, which he loved. He kept telling me that they were actually in a haunted mine. He played on the Kiddie Cove, played some arcade games (and won a big, black bouncy ball), did mini and regular bowling (but only for a few frames this time), and went on the bumper boats. He even tried out mini golf, but only hit the ball once or twice. Overall, we had a fun time.
We decorated our house with some super hero decorations and got him some balloons that he woke up to and went to the store after Boondocks and found a Batman cake (we got lucky)! Later that night he finally got to open his presents. He got a balance bike, some Clifford stuff, a hopper ball, some Batman Lego sets, a t-ball set, and a bubble gun.
The next night we had cake and ice cream with grandparents and Livy and he opened presents from them. He loves presents, that's for sure! Grandma Mecham gave him some Batman & Ninja Turtle shirts, and he would wear the Lego Batman one every day if he could. They were definitely a hit!

We went to the see the doctor for his 4 year check-up and his stats are below. He's tall and lean, just like his Dad! He also got his Pre-K shots and did awesome!
