April 2020

It was recommended that we start to wear a mask everywhere we go. This was a hard month with still trying to figure out what this new virus meant, as well as trying to work from home and do remote school at the same time. We were able to go outside more and go on some hikes since pretty much everything else was closed. Hopefully the kids didn't get tired of hiking, but again, it really was one of the only things we could do to get out and about. We tried several new hiking trails, which was fun.

We decided to go draw Grandma Nelson some chalk art on her driveway one day since we hadn't seen her in a while due to the shutdown. Deacon drew a pretty cool alligator. He's really enjoying art and drawing pictures.

Easter turned out okay, even though there were no public egg hunts this year. We did an egg hunt in our yard for the boys to enjoy.

Livy turned 7. She spent a lot of the day talking to people on the phone. We were still able to have a little party with her.

Emer put my gardening gloves on his feet and said "I'm Curious George."

More of our hiking adventures:

We had to try to get creative sometimes to entertain ourselves:

With all of the professional sports cancelled, we even got Matt to come hiking with us a few times. Emer left this rock in Matt's shoe after one of our hikes. I think they called it a pickle rock.
